It is part of tradition that the father of the bride, as well as the father of the groom, delivers a short wedding speech during the wedding reception. But then again, giving a toast may not always be easy, especially for those who are not used to speaking up in front of a huge group of people and for those who are not good at coming up with interesting remarks or smart things to say. To help them out, here are examples of wedding toast father of the groom.

You have to remember that your speech should include words of thanks for all the people who are present and who shared that wonderful day with the bride and the groom. You may say something along these lines “Good evening, family, relatives, and friends! Not all of you may recognize this old face, and so I would like to briefly introduce myself. I am, for those of you who do not know me, the father of the groom.  Well, on behalf of the newly weds, I would like to welcome you all in this celebration.”

“I would also like to thank you for taking the time to join us here as we witness my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding. Some of you have even travelled a long time just to be here. Please know that your efforts and generosity have been appreciated.”

“Today, ladies and gentlemen, I am the proudest I can ever be. I feel proud to see my son a man. I recall him as a little boy. He would run towards me every time I got home from work to give me a quick hug and to offer me my slippers. He was a sweet little kid and he knew how it is to love. It wouldn’t be surprising at all if he gave up everything for his wife and for his future family. That’s just how he is - always putting the people that he loved first, even if it meant having to sacrifice some things at his expense.”

“I am proud of you, son, and I am happy for you. To my daughter-in-law, welcome to our family! It was a pleasure getting to know you. I am happy because I know how lucky our son is to have you for a wife. With that being said, I propose a toast. To the bride and groom!”
